200 south tryon renovation& lt; br /& gt; charlotte, nc& lt; br /& gt; & lt; br /& gt; 200 south tryon is a joint venture between general electric investments and hines to renovate and reposition a 17-story, 215, 000-square-foot office building in downtown charlotte. As hines' first project in the charlotte market, it was selected to take advantage of the strong leasing market and its superior location. & lt; br /& gt; & lt; br /& gt; after purchasing 200 south tryon in december 1998, work began to renovate the class b structure into a class b+ facility with superior amenities. The renovation included: asbestos abatement; removal of the exterior granite curtain wall on floors two through four; replacement of the curtain wall with a combination of metal and glass; cleaning and painting the remaining exterior; and a complete gutting and renovation of all interior spaces.
